Our Story

We make microgravity accessible for research and industry.

Tumbleweed was born out of a simple frustration: space is full of potential, yet almost impossible to use.

We've been building space systems for years, including early work on wind-driven Mars rovers through Tumbleweed Mars.

These projects shaped our engineering approach and highlighted a broader challenge: access to space is not limited by ideas, but by execution.

As our expertise grew, we saw a critical need closer to home. Researchers and manufacturers are eager to leverage the benefits of microgravity, but the journey to orbit remains slow, bureaucratic, and prohibitively expensive. We experienced first-hand that access to microgravity isn't limited by imagination and potential — it's limited by logistics.

Drawing inspiration from maritime freight containerization, we aim to standardize space logistics: simplifying certification, isolating risk, and managing the end-to-end journey to orbit so you can focus entirely on your experiment while we shorten timelines and slash project cost.

We believe microgravity is the next routine research and manufacturing platform. We are building a gravity-off switch that allows Earth industries to access microgravity at scale.
